Rebecca & Dan's Engagement

So, I don't think we could have picked a colder and windier day to do this session but it was still beautiful!  Rebecca & Dan are getting married on June 25th this year and I am so flippin excited about this one!!!  We decided that Conway was the best place to go play around for the engagement pix!  We made a great decision :)  It was so hard to pick just 8 to show!  I totally can't wait till the wedding!!!  Come on June!!!

Doing anything this weekend . . .

If you have an upcoming wedding and you are looking for ideas check out The Wedding Showcase at The Myrtle Beach Convention Center!  We'll be there with bells on!  . . .  well maybe not bells because I'm sure that would get annoying after a while :)

Out with the old (2010) . . . In with the new (2011)

Wow!  Can you believe that 2010 is over?!?!  I think I blinked and the year was over!

Well let's see . . . The year started out with a bang when we found out that I was pregnant with our second (and last :) child born July 19th, Sophia Nicole.  So I spent most of my wedding season this year pregnant running around at weddings like a crazy person!  I have to say, to all of my fabulous clients that put up with me in the state that I was in, I thank you :)  You guys couldn't have been better!

And how exciting that I had about 4 past clients have babies this year!!!  Kimberly had Joe David on Oct 10th, Ashley had Maddison on November 21st, The Hawthorne Family added a new addition, and The Dakin Family added their 1st addition back in March.  I think I have the clients with the cutest babies (I am a little bias :)  I think there are a few more with babies around the corner this next year so I can't WAIT to meet everyone!

This year was full of great surprises, a few downs but mostly ups.  As 2011 knocks on the door, I can't help but think about what lies ahead.  I have some FABULOUS weddings that I am totally looking forward to!  I am looking foward to seeing my 2 daughters grow, change, and learn daily (but hopfully not too fast :).  Mostly I am looking forward to all the new experiences that might come my way.

I want to wish EVERYONE a Happy & Prosperous New Year!  Remember one of my favorite quotes:

"Life journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well perserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out shouting, ". . .Holy Shit. . .what a ride!" ~~George Carlin

. . . and yes, we lit the wedding dress on fire!

Some people have heard of these sessions and some haven't:  Trash the Dress!  It's where you go out after the wedding, put on your wedding dress and you just have a fun "don't care if you get the dress filthy" session.  It's a lot of fun because it's kinda high fashion meets just havin' fun :)

This session was like that session but a little different.  One of my bestest friends in the whole wide world had an unfortunate thing happen a few years back and her marriage didn't work out.  The wedding dress from that wedding holds some memories, good and some a little painful.  She came to me a while back and wanted to do a trash the dress session and use her wedding dress.  So we kept putting if off for a while because we had been so busy this year and she finally called me this past week and had a new idea.  She still wanted to do a TTD but she wanted to, get this, BURN THE DRESS afterwards!!!  It took a second to sink in but I LOVED the idea.  I get the destinct pleasure of dealing with the beauty of weddings on a daily basis but there are women out there that when things don't work out they feel like they need a new beginning.  This was what Michele was looking for.  We had SO MUCH FUN yesterday and after trashing the dress on the road and in a pond, we stuck it in a 50 gallon drum and set it on fire.  For anyone that was wondering, it smelled really bad :)

I realize that some people might not think this was such a good idea but as an artist I tend to look at things from an odd point of view.  I had a friend who needed this.  I love the thought of doing something completely off the wall with my craft to push the boundries of what's the norm.  The plus was it was very healing for her.  So thank you Michele for allowing me to capture these for you.  Love ya & Rock on Girl!

Brooke & Walt ARE GETTING MARRIED!!!

So I have this friend, and she's a photographer (go figure :p).  I was so HONORED to get to do these for them.  Brooke owns Brooke Christl Photography and she is so great!  We became friends a few years ago when I called her to pick her brain about an album that one of my clients had seen at a venue.  She was so nice to tell me who made the album, and even took the time to talk to me for a bit even though she was in Vegas on a business trip!  We had coffee when she got back and the rest is history :)

Thank you so much Brooke for allowing me to do these for you :)  If you ever want to do some again, you know where to find me :)

Baby Faces

It's really difficult to get ANYTHING done when this is sitting behind you in your office on the floor. Mind you, these were taken at like Midnight last night because I have a night owl on my hands. I just LOVE her little face :)

What is also AWESOME is that being a photographer I will always have these photo's of her. She's already growing up way to fast :(

Kaci & Nigel's Wedding

Have you ever met someone for the first time and immediately you click.  That was Kaci & I almost a 10 months ago when we sat down at the Atlanta Bread Company to disucss her wedding plans.  From that day on, the preperation for her wedding was smooth as silk.  The engagement at Atalaya was so much fun (I think even Nigel enjoyed it :)  Her Bridal shoot was one of my most favorite EVER!!!  Her dress was by Monique Lhuillier which she found at Maddison Row in Charleston South Carolina and The Little White Dress in Myrtle Beach helped with everything else she needed with the dress.  She had been telling me about this dress since we met and I was SO excited to finally see it.  It was definitely the most unique I had ever seen.  I know it was killing her to have to wait to show Nigel on the wedding day.

Their wedding day on October 9th 2010 was effortless!  Kaci & her mom Ellen, had planned everything with Leslie Mennich of Memorable Moments Event Planning and the Pine Lakes Country Club & The Marina Inn at Grande Dunes Staff helped them pull it all off flawlessly.  You couldn't have asked for a better event.  The flowers by Mark Gladden of MGladden Designs were such a big part of the day.  Kaci had said if she had nothing else she wanted beautiful Flowers.  Mark was DEFINITELY the man for the job.  The Cake was by Paige Price of Priceless Desserts.  Wow, did it look good AND taste good :)  Maggie Williamson of Cheveaux was the hair and makeup artist for the day.  Soul Function Band was the entertainment for the night.  I had heard of them but never had an event with them before.  They were FABULOUS!!!  Totally reccomend them to anyone looking for a band!  Hart to Heart Media was the fabulous videographer for the day.

I just want to say Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Kaci & Nigel for allowing me to capture this special day for you.  You guys are very special and I wish you all the best in your new life together.
